.dmg is file extension of archive file in Macintosh.
To use .dmg file in Windows environment, we have to convert it into .iso file using a program called dmg2iso.
dmg2iso is an Apple’s compressed dmg to standard (hfsplus) image disk file convert tool.
1. Download dmg2iso converter program from http://vu1tur.eu.org/tools/download.pl?dmg2img-1.6.2-win32.zip
2. Extract the downloaded .zip file into any folder.
3. Open Command Prompt and go to extracted dmg2iso folder. Make sure .dmg file is inside the same folder with dmg2iso.exe file.
4. Run this command:
dmg2iso file.dmg file.iso
5. That’s all.
After converted into .iso, you can burn the file to DVD or mount it into Virtualbox or VMware as image.
If you need to use the DMG file on Windows, there is no need to convert it first. Simply use DMG Extractor at dmgextractor.com to access the file. Should be pretty easy!
