North Korea Failed On Missile Launch

North Korea on Friday launched a long-range rocket, but it seems it has failed to launch. North Korea launched a long-range missile at 07:39 local time

U.S. intelligence authorities and South Korea were trying to determine whether it was a successful launch.

Meanwhile in Washington, U.S. officials confirmed the long-range rocket launch that deviate from international warnings. United States is looking for reports that there has been a “technical failure,” with a rocket destroyed to the sea.

Japan has also been alert to the Pyongyang rocket launch. North Korea had launched a “flying object” that crashed into the sea after a short flight. “We have sort of information flying objects have been launched from North Korea” at around 07:40 local time, said Defense Minister Naoki Tanaka.

“Flying object that is believed to have flown for more than a minute and fell into the sea does not affect the territory of our country at all.” said Tanaka.

Soon after the launch, South Korea issued a directive urging residents near the inter-Korean border to seek refuge away from any debris that might fall from the rocket.

North Korea earlier said the long-range missile that will put a satellite in orbit for peaceful research purposes, but Western critics see it as the launch of a ballistic missile test in disguise, which is prohibited by UN resolutions.

So far Germany has condemned the long-range rocket launch and called on North Korea’s response to “strong” from the UN Security Council.

“I condemn the effort to launch a rocket by North Korea. It is a violation of international obligations and will increase the tension on the Korean peninsula,” said Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle told AFP during a visit to New York.

“The Security Council of the United Nations should provide a solid answer for this breach of international law,” he said.
