Research has revealed that the stimulated children’s imagination that grow well will make it more creative, more motivated to excel, be able to understand the fact better, adept at communicating faster, able to play a role better, able to control emotions more, and others.
All human work originated from the work of imagination. Before practice, there must be a concept. Before the action, there must be a goal or desire. That is one reason why Einstein said that imagination was more important than knowledge. Therefore, the stimulus to develop a child’s imagination is very necessary, especially when children aged 3-6 years.
Active Imagination
You should know that the stimulation is able to stimulate an active imagination in larger portions. Its purpose is to improve its ability to remember, create, improve, and manipulate. There are many ways to stimulate an active imagination. For example play puzzle, memorizing shapes, sing a song, tell them stories, role playing, drawing, playing riddles, and etc. If all forms of stimulation that we choose can support the academic ability as well, for example, can make a child learning to count, read, or draw, it would be very helpful.
Passive Imagination
Do not forget, passive stimulation of the children’s imagination is still needed. But not to excess, because it will make children less movement. Body movements in children is recommended to improve the capabilities of current and future learning.
Avoid Pressure
Another thing that also important to remember is to avoid pressure on children. You must not give them too much pressure, for example, to set their life with “To do List”. After school, immediately took courses, and that night still have homework from school. Although this stimulation begins from good initiative but if the portion is excess will take away the freedom of children to express and imagination.
